Aileen Dike

Aileen Dike born November 15th 1922 died October 14th 2013. She passed peacefully at Boulder City Hospital with family at her side. Aileen was born in Auckland, New Zealand. She met Martin Dike, her future husband while both were serving in the armed forces in WWII. After coming to America she and Martin raised their family in Woodside, California, travelled extensively in their Airstream trailer before settling down in Boulder City. Aileen Dike was an accomplished artist, capturing the landscapes and wildlife living in the southwestern United States. She was an active member of the Boulder City Art Guild, City Lights Art Gallery in Henderson and signature member of the Nevada Watercolor Society. She loved the arts, Boulder City and Life itself. Aileen Dike was 90 years old. Aileen's loving husband preceded her in death on June 27, 1999. Aileen is survived by her sons David Garrett Dike, Martin Robert Dike and her daughter Paula Finefrock. She is survived by eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. We as a family and as a community will miss her tremendously. In lieu of flowers, her family requests donations are made to the American Cancer Society. Aileen Dike will be put to rest October 21st, 2013. Services will be held at 10:40AM at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Buchanan Blvd, Boulder City Nevada. There will be a Reception to follow in honor of Aileen at the Boulder Dam Hotel.
