Alma Elvyra Duffey, age 96 of Boulder City passed away on April 11, 2021 at her home. She was born on May 29, 1925 in Kaunas, Lithuania to Jonas Milašis and Olga Vacbergaitė-Milašis. She married Raymond Huell Duffey in 1970 in Los Angeles, CA. Raymond preceded her in death. She moved to Boulder City in 2008.
Alma enjoyed traveling to Australia, New Zealand, national parks, Hawaii and Mazatlan. In her younger days she was an avid snow skier for many years while living in Big Bear Lake, California. When at home, she spent her days painting and knitting. Alma enjoyed the desert in Arizona and for years kept a second residence near Dolan Springs with a panoramic view of the Grand Canyon South. She also enjoyed gambling at Gold Strike and Railroad Pass and was one of those that made a profit doing it. Her photos were consistently posted at the Hacienda Casino as a result of her numerous big wins. She attended St Andrew's Catholic Church in Boulder City.
Alma is survived by her son Jonas (Elvira) Karalius, two grandchildren Adrija (Adam) Marshall and Daina (Chad) Pluimer and four great-grandchildren - Aleksija, Kovas, Hudson and Colton. She was cremated and interment will be in May at Calvary Cemetery in Los Angeles, California, alongside her parents, brother Algirdas and husband Ray. She will be sorely missed by all who had the privilege to know her.
There will be a Celebration of Life on Thursday, April 28, at The Patio in Boulder City from 1-3 pm. Those who knew her are welcome to attend and participate. Family and friends can sign an online memorial guestbook at www.bouldercityfamilymortuary.com
