Alma Jean Kleem, 90, passed away at home July 31, 2017. Born Nov. 5, 1926 in Blue Creek, OH. She was the 6th of 13 children to Ray and Alma Covert.
Upon graduation from West Union High School in 1944 she became “Rosie the Riveter” at Patterson field assembling aircraft engines. She married John E. Kleem March 16, 1946 in Newport, KY. Pursuing a career in gaming they moved from OH to Las Vegas in March 1953.
Jeannie was the ideal wife, homemaker, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. A kind, caring and gentle person all who met her loved her.
Alma is survived by her son John E. Kleem II; daughters Shirley A. Shultz and Teresa M Snyder; brother Barry L. Covert; sister Rosie Lacosse; four granddaughters Michelle (Jon) Lynn, Kristin (James) Bush, Traci (David) Waldahl and Robin (Eric) Martin; and 11 great grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday September 12, 2017 at the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Boulder City. Family and friends can sign an online memorial guestbook at www.bouldercityfamilymortuary.com
