Alton (JD) Wayne Roland

Alton, 70, passed away on September 5, 2022 in St. George, Utah after a short stay in the St. George Rehabilitation Center.

Alton Wayne Roland was born November 17, 1951 to Alton Roland and Junie Mae Fuqua in Sweetwater, Texas.  He grew up in Abilene Texas.  He joined the United States Navy where he served for 17 plus years.  While in the Navy he was given the opportunity to travel and see more of the world than he could have anywhere else.  He really loved to travel and see new things.  He also had a love for cars.

In September of 2001, Alton married his sweetheart, Mary Anne in Kaufman Texas.  In 2006, after semi retiring, he took his wife by the hand and moved to Mesquite, Nevada where they enjoyed the dry desert air, and car shows.  Alton enjoyed being out and about, but also enjoyed his private life, he was always known to be there for you, if help was needed, he was only a phone call away.

Alton leaves behind his step-daughter, Roberta Cody, of Texas; sister, Madaline Sharp of Alaska; sister, Donna Kidd of Texas; his brother Elmer Roland of Oklahoma; mother-in-law, Carol Gossett of Mesquite, Nevada; sister-in-law, Amy and Vaughn Reed of Littlefield, Arizona; and numerous nieces and nephews, as well as four grandsons.

Alton was preceded in death by his father, Alton Roland; mother, Junie Mae Fuqua; brother, Eddie Roland; and his loving wife, Mary Anne, Roland.
