ALVIN G ALEXANDER, beloved father, loving husband and a cherished member of the Alexander family, passed away peacefully at the age of 93 at his home on January 8th, 2025, in Las Vegas, Nevada. Alvin was born in Colorado and moved to Boulder City, Nevada. He graduated from Boulder City High School and married his beautiful, childhood friend, Shirley Cooke Alexander. They enjoyed a long and happy marriage, full of adventure, of 66 years before the passing of Shirley in 2017.
Alvin was known for his sense of humor, fantastic stories, strong work ethic and a love of family that surpassed most. He was passionate about his love of lapidary, mining, stone collecting and fishing. He spent many days and hours traipsing through the mountains of Central Nevada finding and looking for precious stones. Alvin loved crafting beautiful jewelry from the gems he and his kids rescued from their rock prison, with lots of Leaverite, Crappite and Digmore thrown in. He never passed up a good yard sale, auction or thrift store without showing his patronage.
He is survived by his brother, Darrel Alexander; four children, Michael (Jennabelle) Alexander, Mark (Deborah) Alexander, David (Karen) Alexander and Debra (Rick) Sixberry; Grandchildren, Matthew Alexander, Julianne (Michael) Arrieta, Frankie (Michael) Bowden, Bryan (Rebecca) Alexander, Keith (Yoko) Alexander, Nicki Chadwick, Kristina (Krissy) Alexander, Brian (Joy) Alexander, Alexis Cable, Krystal (Scott) Dawson, Patrick (Jaime) Layne, Crystal (Brandon) Layne and Shawnna (Jimmy) Clark; many great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Alvin was pre-deceased by his wife Shirley Alexander, Granddaughter Tracie Stratton, Granddaughter Keli Alexander, Brother Marvin Alexander and Sister Bonnie Brown.
Services will be held on January 17th @ 1:00pm at the BC Home Church, 1100 Adams Blvd, Boulder City, NV 89005. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you donate to Shriners Hospitals for Children in memory of Alvin.
