Barbara Walker

April 18, 1929 — September 25, 2017

Barbara Mae Walker, age 88 of Boulder City, NV passed away on September 25, 2017 at her home surrounded by family.  She was born on April 18, 1929 in Payette, ID to Carl Theodore Clauser “Ted” and Leta Mae Alspach Clauser.  She married Donald Lee Walker on August 28, 1955 in Payette, ID.   She and her family moved to Boulder City, NV in 1993.

Barbara had a passion for music and has always been very talented.  She loved to play music and also teach music.  She started teaching piano when she was in high school and went on to teach after she received her Master’s Degree in Music.  She taught middle school band, high school band, and music theory and piano at Treasure Valley Community College in Ontario, OR.

She was very active in the music program at Grace Community Church, where she served as assistant music director.  She accompanied services on piano and organ, sang in the choir and occasionally directed the choir.  She led Bible studies at the Homestead, drove for Lend-A-Hand, and accompanied worship services at The Homestead.  She participated in the church's Chrismon project, Country Store and prayer group.  She was also a skilled seamstress and an excellent baker.

Barbara is survived by her husband Donald Lee Walker; two daughters Susan (Steve) Marrano and Karen (Ken) Watanabe; a brother Rev. Charles (Mary) Clauser and grandson Reggie Watanabe.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 28, 2017 at Grace Community Church 1150 Wyoming St Boulder City, NV 89005 from 10:00 to 10:45 with funeral service starting at 11:00 am.  In lieu of flowers memorial donation can be made to Lend-A-Hand of Boulder City, 400 Utah Street BC, NV and Grace Community Church in memory of Barbara Walker, 1150 Wyoming Street BC, NV.  Family and friends can sign an online memorial guestbook at www.bouldercityfamilymortuary.com
