Barney John Hein, age 83, of Boulder City, NV passed away at home surrounded by family on June 6, 2016. He was born on July 7, 1932 in Toledo, OH to Barney and Helen Hein. Barney served in the United States Air Force. He married Teresa Johnson on November 18, 1984 in Las Vegas, NV. They have lived in the Boulder City area for the past 28 years.
Barney worked as a pilot and flew for many airlines including Royal West Airlines. He retired at the age of 72. He loved his dogs and enjoyed taking them for walks. He volunteered many hours at the senior center. He was very talented working with his hands and spent many hours building model airplanes and working on mechanics. He enjoyed riding his motorcycles and going on road trips.
Barney is survived by his wife Teresa Hein and their two children, Benny and Manfred; six children by a former marriage: Kerrie, Barney, Cindy, Tobi, Jodi, and Gus; a sister Marilyn; and four grandchildren.
He will be placed at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Boulder City on Thursday, June 23, 2016, at 10 am. Family and friends are welcome. Reception to follow at the "Dome", 904 Keys Drive, Boulder City.
