Bette Porter

Bette Ilene Porter age 91, of Boulder City, NV passed away on February 12, 2014. She was born on November 29, 1922 in Plover, Iowa to John H Seger and Ella Eva (Fortney) Seger. She married Ronald D Porter in the spring of 1942. They lived in Humbolt, Iowa and moved to Boulder City in 1973. They worked together in businesses that included major appliance retail and electrical contracting.
Bette was very active in the community she was involved with the Beta Sigma Phi, Chamber of Commerce, BC Women's Club, Republican Women, and the Senior Center. She was very crafty and loved to sew. She enjoyed playing bridge and going to the casino to play.
Bette is survived by her two sons Kent (Carolyn) Porter of Boulder City, NV, Jon Porter of Henderson, NV; five grandchildren Nicole (Ayoub) Sarouphim, Chris Porter, Jennifer Eisenbarth-Porter, Terri (Ken) Kanger, Rebecca Gates; five great grandchildren Emerson Sarouphim, Karissa Kanger, Kris Kanger, Brittney (Jack) McGiffin, Joseph Esquivel; and two great great grandchildren Dian Esquivel, Oakley McGiffin; three sister in laws Charlotte Seger, Connie Seger, and Frances Wilson.
Family will be holding private services and Bette will be laid to rest with her husband at the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
