Bonnie Linck

December 21, 1924 — October 27, 2016

Bonnie Ellen Van Zant Linck passed away on Wednesday, October 27, 2016, at the age of 91.  She had been residing at Homestead of Boulder City where she passed of a heart attack.

Bonnie was born in a lumber camp outside Custer, South Dakota, December 21, 1924, to parents Jack Edgar and Ellen Merrey Clifford Van Zant. She was preceded in death by her three siblings: June Jordan, Jack Van Zant and Patti Van Zant. She was raised in the Midwest and after graduating from Washington High School in Sheldon, Iowa, then moved to the West with her parents and younger sister.

While visiting Boulder City, Nevada, she met Don Linck and fell in love.  During World War II while on leave from the U.S. Navy, Don married Bonnie Van Zant at Grace Community Church on August 6, 1945.  Bonnie fell in love with the desert and the western lifestyle enjoying oil painting, studying dance, knitting, and photography.  She retired from the Bureau of Reclamation receiving many awards for outstanding work.

She is survived by her daughter Rebecca Lee (Jack) Noble; three grandchildren Jennifer Noble, Tricia (Tom) Barber, Jerrod (Cindi) Noble; four great grandchildren Eisley and Gage Barber, Elizabeth Lutz, and Brendan (Kayla) Noble; one great-great granddaughter Kaidence Noble.

Luana Shamo, Bonnie’s beloved sister-in-law, was instrumental in Bonnie’s care.  Also the Shamo family was very supportive in Bonnie’s life.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, November 16 at Grace Community Church in Boulder City, Nevada at 1:00 pm.  The graveside service will follow at 2:00 pm at the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
