It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and daughter-in-law, Bonnie Cecil Mitchell Scott Miller. Born August 16th, 1951 in Tooele, Utah to parents Delbert Heber Mitchell and Hoilen (Lynn) Betenson Mitchell, she was the third child and first daughter of that union. Bonnie was raised in The Highlands of Tooele where everyone knew everyone, and all of her peers were the same age. Growing up in a small town during the 1950’s and early 60’s was interesting and challenging at the same time. Bonnie attended Central Elementary, Tooele Junior High (the old building), and graduated with the THS Class of 1969. During her youth she enjoyed camping and fishing with her sister Marilyn at Moon Lake and Deer Creek, water skiing on Mill Pond, hunting rabbits with her twin brothers Delbert and Delwynn. After graduating from high school she married Walter Scott December 1, 1974. From that union two children were born, Leslie 1975, and Stacey 1978. After living in Arkansas for three years, they returned to Tooele where they both worked at the Tooele Army Depot. Leaving civil service, they made their home in Wendover, Nevada where they worked at the Stateline Hotel and Casino. Divorcing in 2004, Bonnie made her home in Mesquite, Nevada. Walt, an Army veteran, died of cancer in 2008, and was buried at Camp Williams Military Cemetery, Utah. On February 7th, 2009, Bonnie married Richard (Dick) Miller in Laughlin, Nevada. Richard, a decorated Korean War Marine, died March 13, 2019, and was cremated, and his ashes laid to rest at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Boulder City, Nevada, and where her ashes will join him.
Bonnie is survived by her son Leslie (wife Deise Coelho Scott), Stacey Campbell (husband Tharon), six grandchildren, Ryan, Nolan, Hunter, Debra, Mora, and Lucas. One great grandchild. Also survived by her twin brothers, Delbert and Delwynn Mitchell. Preceded in death by her parents, and by her sister Marilyn in 2012. As we say in the Navy sister, “Fair winds and following seas shipmate, we have the watch”.
