Bruce Robert Humphreys

Bruce Robert Humphreys, age 73, passed away on August 26, 2024, in Henderson, Nevada. Born on March 3, 1951 in Dallas, Texas, Bruce spent his formative years traveling the United States and Europe. He truly was a free soul and had many stories of which he shared with his family and friends.

Bruce served as a Private in the Army and was an alumnus of Dixie College and the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. Bruce earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication and an Associate's Degree In Philosophy. His intellectual pursuits were paralleled by his passion for music and he wanted nothing more then to fulfill his dream of being a radio station DJ.

Although, Bruce lost his sight in his mid years, he still pursued his love for music by downloading songs and creating great playlists, which he always gave away to family and friends. Bruce also on occasion, would play guitar with a local Boulder City band or hang out at the Boulder City Senior Center where he had many friends.

Bruce was preceded in death by his parents, Robert D. and Mary Eva Humphreys; his sister, Karen A. Humphreys; and his beloved wife, Deborah K Humphreys. He is survived by his brother, Dennis Humphreys; his brother and sister-in-law, William Kim and Laurie Humphreys; and sister and brother-in-law, Rose and Ron Ricks and many nieces and nephews.

His family remembers him as a loving brother, Uncle, and friend. A service to honor Bruce’s life will be held on Thursday, September 12, 2024, in the Chapel at the Boulder City Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
