Bruce Ramon Schwegler, age 71, of Las Vegas passed away on July 2, 2014. He was born in Portland, OR on August 2, 1942 to the late Ramon Miles Schwegler and the late Blanche Evelyn (Jones) Schwegler. . He grew up in Portland and joined the United States Army after a year of college. Following his military service he went on to get his degree as an architect from the University of Oregon. He was a registered professional architect in Oregon and Hawaii.
Bruce was a personal and quiet man and was very kind hearted when you got to know him. He loved working at his home doing various projects. He enjoyed designing things and then building them. He designed and built his own home in Portland, Oregon. He also enjoyed sailing and skiing in earlier years. He was on the ski patrol on Mt. Hood in Oregon as well as in Germany while in the Army.
Bruce is survived by his wife Jucilene (Moraes) Schwegler; two daughters Erika and Jessica Schwegler; Jucilene's son Renato Eric Dos Santos; a brother Lee Schwegler and his wife Dianne; two nephews Eric Schwegler and his wife Christine and their two children Colin and Caitlyn; Brian Schwegler and his wife Marij and their children Leann and Steven; and Tim Mihalick to whom he was a father figure. Bruce will be deeply missed by his family, friends and his dog, "Doggie".
Funeral service and internment will be held on Tuesday, July 8, 2014 at 12:00 noon at the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Veterans Memorial Drive, Boulder City, NV 89005. In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to Nathan Adelson Hospice, 4141 Swenson St., Las Vegas, NV 89119.
