Carl D Mattson age 66, passed away at his home in Boulder City on February 14, 2012. He was born in Newberry, Michigan on March 16, 1945 to William and Lily Mattson. Carl served his country in the United States Navy and later in the Coast Guard. He was a skilled electrician that was employed with Timet for twelve years.
He was a very spiritual man that loved the great outdoors. He was a gold prospector and a member of the GPA Gold prospector Association of America. He enjoyed going to Grants Pass, Oregon in search for gold. He was a member of the VFW and a Member of the 4856 Steelworks Union. He enjoyed helping people out and was known for his wood working ability that he often used to build doll houses and other children's toys for those in need. Most importantly he was a great person that friends could count on to be there if they need someone.
He is survived by his wife Patricia Peralta; daughter Lorraine Gregg; grandson Derek Gregg; a brother Roger Mattson; nephew David (Shelli) Mattson and a niece Cheryl (Steve) Foelich.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, March 2, 2012 at 12:40 pm at the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Boulder City.
