Carmela “Millie” Segarra, 83, was reunited with her husband Nelson at the gates of heaven on Monday, June 11th 2018. A celebration of life service will be held on Monday, June 18th at 10:40 am at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Veterans Memorial Drive, Boulder City, NV 89005. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Nevada State Veterans Home activities department. Address for donations can be sent to NVAL C/O Julie Boyster P.O.BOX 60464 Boulder City, NV 89006. It was always the favorite part of her day.
Millie was born on June 2, 1035 in Brooklyn, New York to Amerigo and Angelina Eusepi, one of ten children. After losing her father at a young age, she was not able to complete High School. On November 24, 1962, she married the love of her life, Nelson Segarra in Hicksville, NY. With a smile that could light up a room, a heart of gold and her selfless determination, she later became the owner of Nail Dynasty Salon in Bethpage, NY.
Millie delighted in others delight. If you liked a piece of her jewelry, she would literally take it off and give it to you as a gift. This act of kindness was more precious to her than the piece of jewelry itself. Her happiest moments were when everyone could share in her delicious meals. Some of her favorite things were knitting, ceramics, bowling, gambling and in her later years, the queen of rummy (better known to her as “BINGO.”).
Millie is survived by her two children Mark and Angela, Son in law Andrew, Daughter in law Lisa and her four grandchildren Zack, Hannah, Jake and Amelia.
Special thanks and appreciation to the staff of the Nevada Veterans Home where Millie resided and to Nathan Adelson Hospice where she transitioned to Heaven. Much gratitude to Boulder City Family Mortuary for helping with all her arrangements. Family and friends can sign an online memorial guest book at www.bouldercityfamilymortuary.com
Thank you Mom for being the light of our lives, your love shall shine eternally in our hearts.
