Carloyn Parkin Traasdahl, age 74, resident of Boulder City, passed away on December 14, 2015. She was born in Payson, Utah on November 17, 1941 to Thomas Lynn Parkin and Maxine Holman Parkin. Carolyn attended Juab High School and later Stevens-Henager College in Salt Lake City, acquiring secretarial skills she would later use working for Hercules Powder Company, Bank of Nevada, and the Henderson Police Department, to name just a few. On January 19, 1973 she married Michael Lee Traasdahl. They initially lived in Henderson, Nevada and later in Boulder City, Nevada.
Carolyn enjoyed her family, and loved spending time with her children and spoiling her grandchildren. She enjoyed working in her Mother-in-Law, Edith Traasdahl's, flower shop, Edies Flowers, and eventually bought the flower shop, and ran it for many years. She enjoyed painting in water colors and oil. She was a member of the Boulder City Art Guild.
She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served in many callings, including Relief Society President, Primary President, Young Women's President, Young Women's Camp Director, Primary Teacher, Sunday School Teacher, Cub Scout Den Mother, Relief Society Teacher, and as an Ordinance Worker in the Las Vegas, Nevada Temple.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Lee Traasdahl. She is survived by five children: Marc (Diane) Traasdahl, Kurt (Kami) Traasdahl, Barbara (Chad) Dickinson, Eric (Lisa) Traasdahl, Kirsten (Bryan) Reid; two brothers: Ron (Annette) Parkin and Terrance (Mary) Parkin; three sisters: Joanne Loveless, Betty Dixon, and Kristy (Jeff) Carter, and eighteen grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 21, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at the Fifth Street LDS Chapel in Boulder City. Visitation will be held prior to the services at the church from 9:00 to 10:00 am. Burial will follow at the Boulder City Cemetery. Family and friends can sign an online memorial guestbook at
