Clara S. Morley, age 92, passed away Tuesday, October 31, 2017. Clara was born on November 9, 1924 to Paul E. Luther and Suzanna Darnutzer in Rock Springs, WY. She married Jerry Morley on April 21, 1944. As a member of the LDS Church, she served the old Boulder City First Ward as Relief Society president and as a counselor on the Henderson Stake Primary Board. She loved sewing and she and her mother-in-law pieced together and quilted many quilts for the family and those in need. She was an avid reader and there wasn’t a crossword puzzle that she couldn’t finish. She was a devoted mother and her sweet, quiet ways inspired the ones who knew her best. Thanksgiving dinner was always the “best” as her family gathered around for the annual Thanksgiving dinner at the Morley home. As her beloved Paul says, “She is the best mom”.
Mom was preceded in death by her husband Jerry, her parents, her brother, Paul Luther, and a grad daughter, Minnie Marie.
Clara is survived by sons Jerry (Geri), Paul and Bob (Tori), daughters Susan Wood (Gil) and Christine Mausser. She was grandmother to 17, great grandmother to 19, and great-great grandmother to 1.
Services will be held on her birthday, November 9, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the 5th Street LDS Chapel in Boulder City, NV with burial to follow at the Boulder City Cemetery on Adams Blvd. Many heartfelt thanks to her home away from home, the Beehive Home of Henderson. Family and friends can sign an online memorial guestbook at www.bouldercityfamilymortuary.com
