Ms. Darleen Fagg (Nee Fenkel) was born on March 16, 1926 in Eureka, Utah. Darleen loved the United States of America and the state of Nevada. She was an avid supporter of Hillsdale College, the VFW, and the DAV. During WWII she worked as secretary to the officers in charge of the Hawthorne Army Depot. She married Harlan Fagg on July 27, 1942 in Terre Haute, Indiana. Harlan was a Silver Star recipient.
Darleen was a voracious reader and would enjoy a romance novel or mystery. Upon becoming a medical transcriber, she collected numerous medical tomes and aspired to write a book herself one day. Darleen loved animals and in the course of her lifetime, fed many stray cats on her 2-acre property in Las Vegas. At various times she owned horses, dogs, peacocks, ducks and chickens. This love was transmitted to her only child, Marleen, who works with and owns her own horses today.
Within a few years of selling the Las Vegas property which had been homesteaded by her family, it was discovered that Darleen had developed bone cancer which took her in the early morning hours of April 30, 2018. She had become her daughter’s next door neighbor in her Boulder City apartment and will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
