After a long illness, Dave Dooley passed away peacefully with his wife Phyllis by his side on February 27, 2012.
Dave was born in Grand Forks, ND to Nellie and Norbert Dooley, the second of two children. He went on to study at the University of North Dakota, where he received an officer's commission in the U. S. Air Force. After a distinguished military career, Dave enjoyed a successful second career with Northrop Aircraft Corporation.
Memories of Dave will leave smiles on the faces of many. He loved life and had a mischievous sense of humor. It was his genuine interest in others, however, that left a lasting impression. Dave cared about people, and consistently stood by others in their time of need. He was a man of faith and true integrity.
Dave is survived by Phyllis, his wife of 58 years; son, Tim (LeAnn) Dooley; granddaughters Carolyn (Jeff) Scherler and Andrea (Ryan Brown) Dooley; and great-grandchildren Lily and Timothy Scherler. Dave was preceded in death by his son Thomas and three infants who passed away at birth, his parents and his sister Mary Alice Boccella.
A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, March 17 at 12:30 pm at St Viator Catholic Church, 2461 E Flamingo Road in Las Vegas.
