David Allen Floyd, age 74, of Boulder City, NV went to be with the Lord on November 21, 2015. He was born on June 25, 1941 in Granite City, IL to Ival and Opal Floyd. He moved to Boulder City in 1987 from Illinois, where he married Hoa Nguyen on February 15, 1997.
David owned and operated Radio World in Boulder City since 1987. Prior to that, he owned and operated Floyd Electronics in Collinsville, IL since 1976. He loved ham radio and was a member of various groups including the Egyptian Radio Club in Granite City, IL. He enjoyed singing barbershop harmony and was a member of the Society for the Preservation and Encouragement of Barber Shop Quartet Singing in America.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Carol Broadwater. He is survived by his wife, Hoa Floyd; a brother, Dennis Lee Floyd; a sister, Gail Dunlap; three children, Rebecca (Shannon Dennis) Cleveland, David (Belinda) Floyd Jr, Diana Christine (Jon Geck) Floyd; six grandchildren, Phillip, Jason, Joshua, Shaun, Amanda, and Alexander; and six great grandchildren.
David was known for his kindness and generosity, and will be greatly missed by not only his family, but by the many friends he made everywhere he went. ,
A memorial service will be held at the Belleville First Church of the Nazarene, 1901 Lebanon Ave., Belleville, IL on Saturday, November 28, at 12:00 pm.
