David Henry Winberry, born on October 4, 1949, in Winnemucca, Nevada, passed away peacefully on February 9, 2025, at his home in Henderson, Nevada, surrounded by his loving family. After a courageous seven-year battle with prostate cancer, he fought with unwavering strength and determination until the very end.
David was a man who found joy in life’s simple pleasures. He had a passion for traveling, casting a fishing line into quiet waters, cheering on his favorite NASCAR drivers, and, most of all, watching his grandchildren grow up. His greatest pride was his family, whom he cherished deeply.
He leaves behind his loving devoted wife of 40 years, Janet Winberry, his daughter and son in law Lacey (Brian) Balch, his beloved grandchildren, Rowdy David-Winberry and Emery Michelle, his sister, Nancy (Rich) Hernandez, and his brother in law Richard Cudahy. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends who will forever hold him in their hearts.
Upon his passing, David was welcomed into heaven by those who had gone before him—his mother, his father, his son, his sister, his nephew, his brother in law, and many other cherished family and friends. As we say goodbye, we take comfort in knowing that he is at peace, embraced by God’s love. “He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.” – Revelation 21:4.
David’s legacy of strength, sarcasm, and perseverance will live on in all who knew him. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
