Dennis Adam Garbat, 79, passed away peacefully on December 10, 2021 surrounded by family.
He was born in Chicago, IL to Walter and Agnes Garbat. He was the youngest of three children. He grew up in the Chicago area where he met his sweetheart Sue Garbat (Griesbaum). They celebrated their 54th wedding anniversary a month before his passing.
Dennis was a machinist by trade. He worked for various companies in the Chicago area. After moving to Boulder City, NV in 1974, he began his career with EG&G/Bechtel where he worked for 21 years. His career path then led him into HVAC work and eventually to Harrah’s Casino, working for their engineering department where he retired in 2007 at the age of 65.
Dennis loved his family, golfing, fishing and electronics. He would build his own computers and tinker around with them. He always wanted to upgrade and stay on the cutting edge of technology changes. He was fascinated with technology, science and astronomy.
Dennis is survived by his wife of 54 years, Sue; his daughters Jenny (Jeff) Ward, Cyndi (Rich) Outram; granddaughters Justine (Dave) Canterbury and Julia Ward; sisters Pat Buxton and Peggy (Bill) Caderet along with numerous nieces and nephews.
