Diane Lynn Hutchings, also known as Di, passed away on January 19, 2024, at the age of 68 in Henderson, NV. She was born on October 26, 1956 in Culver City, California. Diane was a fierce individual with a passionate interest in politics, she even ran for office in Boulder City. She will be deeply missed by her loved ones.
Diane is survived by her son, Christopher Barton, her daughter-in-law, Anastasia Barton, and her grandson, Raylan Barton. She is also survived by her brother, Donald Cowie, her sister, Barbara Bixby, and many nieces and nephews who she adored. Diane was preceded in death by her husband, James Hutchings, her mother, Marjorie Cowie, and her father, George (Dodd) Cowie.
Diane's hobbies included spending time with her beloved dogs, Mookie and Benji and her cats, Casper and Queenie. She found joy and companionship in their presence. She loved to dance in her youth and spent a lifetime loving to sing. Diane was an incredible baker and cake decorator, and man did she love sushi. And gorillas. She was crazy about gorillas.
In her community, Diane was an active member of St. Paul Orthodox Church, where she worshipped. Her faith was an important part of her life.
Diane Lynn Hutchings will be deeply missed by all who knew her. May her memory be eternal.
Her funeral will be held at St. Paul Orthodox Church in Las Vegas on Tuesday, January 30 at 11A.M. Her burial will follow the service at Boulder City Municipal Cemetery where she will find her final rest next to her husband, James Hutchings.
