Donald Joseph Brewer – 76 passed away January 29, 2019 in Henderson, NV. A new resident of Boulder City. Don was born January 21, 1943 in Seattle, WA to Donald Eugene Brewer and MaryJane E. Tillman. He grew up in Southern California beach communities eventually attending high school in Los Angeles. He enlisted in the United States Navy and became a Hospital Corpsman serving in Vietnam 1961 – 1965. Upon his return he earned an A.A. degree in Journalism and worked in sales and advertising before embarking on a political consulting career. Times changed and he sought a less stressful life and spent 24 years as a meat cutter with Farmer John. Don made friends wherever he went and people sought him out for his thoughtful guidance and opinion. Besides his children and grandkids he was proud of his sobriety of over 19 years, and of the service he could offer to others because of it.
Don is survived by his wife of 45 years, Betsey; previous wife Carolyn; sons Patrick (Charlene) and Michael (Christina); grandchildren Abigail, Joseph, Michael, Jr.; step grandchildren Brandon, Shaheim and Amari; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral Mass will be held on Friday February 15, 2019 at 10:30 am at St. Andrew Catholic Community, 1399 San Felipe Drive, Boulder City, NV 89005. Following will be the interment at 12:00 noon at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Veterans Memorial Drive, Boulder City, NV 89005.
