Donald Wayne Brooks, 85, passed away on August 19, 2024, in Mesquite, Nevada. He was born on September 30, 1938, in San Bernardino, California, to the late Earl and Mildred (Swann) Brooks.
Donald spent his childhood in Colton, California, where his love for baseball blossomed during street games with his cousins. After graduating from Colton High School in 1956, he proudly served in the United States Air Force for four years.
In 1972, Donald married the love of his life, Patricia Ann Teel. Together, they raised six children: Angela (Bob) French, Dee (Shane) McCoy, Thomas (Danae) Brooks, Ricky Brooks, Randy Brooks, and Rusty Brooks. He was a devoted husband and father, and his family was the cornerstone of his life. Predeceased by his parents, Donald leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories with, not only his children, but his beloved grandchildren: Nicholas, Krystine, Tyler, Brittany, Jayson along with numerous great-grandchildren, each of whom held a special place in his heart.
Donald had a lifelong passion for sports, especially baseball, and enjoyed a friendly wager with family members. He loved the outdoors, spending many happy times camping, fishing, and, in his younger days, hunting. His affection for animals was evident, as he was often seen sharing his meals with his furry friends.
He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, and grandfather. His humor, stories, wisdom, and the warmth of his company will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
A Celebration of Life for Donald will be held at the family home on Saturday, August 24, 2024, starting at 1 p.m.
