Doris Louise Judd
August 29, 1930 — February 21, 2025
Boulder City, Nevada – Doris Louise (Bryant) Judd, age 94, of Las Vegas, Nevada, passed away on February 21, 2025, at the Southern Nevada State Veterans Home in Boulder City, Nevada. She was born in Stearns, Kentucky on August 29, 1930 to Lincoln Albert and Lucy Myrtle (Harp) Bryant. She married J V Judd on April 18, 1950 in Kentucky.
Doris was a woman of warmth, kindness, and quiet strength, touching the lives of those around her with generosity and love.
Doris lived a life full of adventure and devotion. As a devoted military spouse, she moved with her husband to Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, during his service, embracing the challenges and joys of military life. Later, she settled in Cincinnati, Ohio, where she raised her two daughters and helped raise her first two grandchildren. She eventually made her way to Panama City Beach, Florida, enjoying the coastal beauty, before making her final home in Las Vegas, Nevada, where she helped raise her third grandchild.
Doris had a deep passion for music and often filled her home with beautiful melodies from the piano. Her love of cooking brought family and friends together, as she delighted in preparing meals that nourished both the body and soul. She cherished her collection of dolls, each a reminder of childhood wonder and simple joys.
Beyond her many talents, Doris was known for her unwavering care for others. Whether offering a comforting word, a home-cooked meal, or simply a listening ear, she embodied kindness and selflessness in all she did. She also possessed a competitive spirit, especially when it came to checkers. An expert player, she rarely lost a game, much to the amazement (and occasional frustration) of her challengers.
Doris leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but her spirit will live on in the hearts of those she touched.
Doris is survived by her two daughters, Rosiland Murray of Cincinnati, OH, and Anita Zoe (Norman) Sturgill of Las Vegas, NV; three grandsons, Chuck Murray, Chris Murray, and Warren (Brody Taylor) Sturgill; and great-grandchildren, Daymia, Jayden, Griffin, Grant, and Gavin.
Doris is now reunited with her late husband, J V Judd. Also preceding her in death were her parents, Lincoln and Lucy Bryant; brothers, Herman Bryant and Norman H. “Purt” Bryant; sisters, Pearl Redden, Flonnie Ester “Earlie” Brown, Dorothy “Dot” Pritchard Waters, and Eula Stewart; and a great-grandson, Gibson.
A funeral service will be held on March 10, 2025, at 9:20 a.m. at the Chapel of the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Boulder City, Nevada. The family invites you to sign an online memorial guestbook at www.starmortuary.com
