Douglas Stumpf

Douglas Clarke Stumpf, age 82, of Henderson, NV passed away on September 28, 2014 at his home surrounded by family. He was born in Cleveland, Ohio on August 1, 1932 to Britton Stumpf and Mabel Knight Stumpf. Douglas served in the United States Air Force from May 1951 to May 1956 during the Korean War. He married Helene Abbey on June 29, 1963 in Cleveland, OH. Douglas and Helene moved to Las Vegas in 1979 from Collinsville, IL.

Douglas was proud of his service and was a true patriot. He was a member of the American Legion post 40 in Henderson, NV. He was a successful business owner that worked as an executive recruiter in the fire protection and life safety industry. He was a member of the Lions club both in Las Vegas and back in Illinois.

Douglas is survived by his wife of 51 years Helene Stumpf of Henderson, NV, daughter June Culotta and son Gary Stumpf of Cleveland, OH; sons Douglas, Christopher, Frank, Darian; daughter Dina Stumpf all of Las Vegas, NV; 15 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents Britton and Mabel Stumpf; a son Robert Clarke Stumpf; and brother James Stumpf.

Funeral service will be held on Monday, October 6, 2014 at 10:40 am at the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Veterans Memorial Dr. Boulder City, NV 89005. Family and friends can sign an online memorial guestbook at www.bouldercityfamilymortuary.com
