Edward Barquist, 68, passed away peacefully in his home on December 31, 2014, after a long battle with cancer.
Ed, a longtime resident of Henderson, was born January 4, 1946, in Boulder City, NV. After graduating from Basic High School, he attended sheet metal trade school in Las Vegas. He owned and operated Barquist Sheet Metal for many years, and was a Member of Teamsters Local 631, as well as the Regional and National Sheet Metal Workers Unions.
His passions included touring the country on his Harley Davidson, joy riding around town on the HD bike, cleaning said bike and spending time at their vacation casa south of San Felipe, Baja California. Ed is survived by his wife of 25 years, Jacqueline Barquist, son Jack Barquist (Cathy) of San Diego, CA, and grandchildren Megan, Chloe, Ryan, Nicholas and Jaden. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bette and Jack Barquist, brother Terry and daughter Sheila. The love and passion he felt for his pets Cooper, Geisha, Gus, Bijou,a Precious, and Catty could only be surpassed by his love for life or, as Ed would say, "If ya got em smoke em". Ed will be missed more than words can express by countless friends and extended family members. Godspeed my love.
Final arrangements are pending. The family encourages signing the online memorial book at www.bouldercityfamilymortuary.com .
