Edward Simpson, Sr

September 8, 1946 — September 9, 2021

Ed was born in Endicott, New York to Harry L. and Geraldine Simpson.  He was the youngest of three boys.  When he was five his mother died, later Madeline Simpson became his stepmother.  Ed married Merileen in 1966. Ed served in the US Coast Guard from 1964 to 1968 retiring as an Aviation Electrician 2nd class.  Ed had a very successful 40 plus year career as a diesel truck mechanic.

He enjoyed baseball, football, golf, boating, water skiing, music, movies, and television.  Ed enjoyed coaching baseball, teaching water skiing, and just teaching others new skills in work or play.  Ed was kind, always smiling, friendly and had an off-beat sense of humor.

Ed was a family man.  His wife, sons, grandchildren, brothers Bob (Anne) and Jim (Joan), many in-laws, many nieces and nephews meant the world to him; his love for them was unconditional.  He was a very proud father to Paul (Mendy) and Eddie (Maria) teaching his sons skills, sports, how to love and b loved, to accomplish what they desired and how to be great dads and loving husbands.  Ed’s three grandchildren were his special loves and he adored them.  He was a member of St. Andrew Catholic Church in Boulder City where he lived for 20 years.
