Elizabeth Finley
February 7, 1925 — June 23, 2016
Elizabeth Zimomra Finley, 91, of Boulder City, Nevada and formerly of Warren, Ohio, passed away on Thursday June 23, 2016, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on February 7, 1925 in Warren, Ohio. In 1944, at the age of nineteen, she enlisted in the U.S. Navy. Upon her honorable discharge in 1947, she held the rank of Pharmacist Mate First Class. Her husband, Naval Captain William H. Finley, whom she married on August 29, 1947, passed on October 14, 1984. She then continued her nursing career at U.C.L.A Medical Center in Los Angeles, California. She was very active in the Boulder City Republican Women’s Club. She was an avid reader, enjoyed board games, cards and riding her bike.
She is survived by her sister and brother-in-law Olga and Andy Zamboree of Deerfield, Florida; Nephews Ralph, John, Paul, David, Alexander and Michael; nieces Ellen Marie, June Ann, Patricia and Beverly; and her very dear longtime friend Alois ‘Tony’ Plainer.
