Elmer Lee Snowden, age 81, longtime resident of Boulder City, NV passed away on December 28, 2015. He was born on September 2, 1934 in Honcut, Butte County, CA to George and Bulah Calapp Snowden. Lee served his country in the United State Air Force and was stationed at Iwo Jima, Japan, and Stateside. He married Margo Corey on January 15, 1957 in Las Vegas, NV.
Lee worked as a mechanical engineer for the Bureau of Mines. After his retirement he enjoyed spending time in the outdoors. Lee and Margo served two missions for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Lee and Margo enjoyed serving as camp host in many of the western states. He enjoyed photography, trains and was a black belt in judo and sensei for many at Silver State Judo. He was a very generous man and spent many hours volunteering at Lend a Hand in Boulder City. His true passion was his grandchildren and doing things with them.
Lee is survived by his wife Margo Snowden; four children Lori (Layne) Weber, Lisa (Rick) Gardner, Larry (Jackie) Snowden, Lonny (Sheri) Snowden; a sister Donna (Bob) Bartolino; seventeen grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, January 2, 2016 at 11:00 am at the 5th Street LDS Chapel. Visitation will be from 10:00am to 10:45 am prior to the service. Burial will be at the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery on Monday, January 4, 2016 at 10:40 am.
