Eugene Harris age 94, of Boulder City, NV passed away on November 27, 2015. He was born on March 3, 1921 in Peoria, IL to Edward and Jessie Newman Harris. He was a member of the United States Marine Corps and served in WWII in the Pacific Islands. He returned as a wounded soldier to the Alameda Naval hospital in Oakland, California. There he met Olive "Polly" Maradene who served in the Navy and was stationed at the hospital. They were married on October 21, 1944. They enjoyed traveling and experienced many parts of the world. They spent their retirement years in Boulder City, Nevada and Cottonwood, Arizona.
Eugene's occupation was mainly as a cross-country truck driver, but he brought his family from Iowa to Boulder City as an employee with the Park Service at Lake Mead in 1963. He had a passion for watches and loved to collect them. He also enjoyed camping out and going fishing.
Eugene is survived by his wife Olive Harris of Boulder City, NV; four children Joanne Knox of Cottonwood, AZ, TJ (Larry) Youngs of Henderson, NV, Candice (Lance) Reed of Riverside, RI, Richard Harris of Somerset, WI. They have 19 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and six great great grandchildren.
