Eugene Mason

Eugene E Mason, age 87 of Boulder City, NV passed away on December 26, 2014 at the Nevada State Veterans Home. Eugene was born on August 20, 1927 in Canon City, CO to Joseph and Clara Esser. He was adopted by Dr. Mason when his mother remarried after his father's death. Eugene served in the United States Navy during WWII. After his service he went to college, graduating with a degree in business. He moved to Boulder City in 1962 from Durango, CO and worked at the Nevada Test Site.
Eugene provided a great home for his three daughters and dedicated himself to them. He loved to travel the west and enjoyed the backcountry of Colorado and the Grand Canyon.
Eugene is survived by his three daughters, Cynthia (Richard) Reed of Reno, NV, Teresa Stankis of Santa Maria, CA, Marlena Lopez of Boulder City, NV; five grandchildren Jessica Stankis, Eric Stankis, Jacquelyn (Reed) Bonde, Rebecca Reed, Jena Lopez; and a great grandchild on the way.
In accordance with Eugene's wish he will be cremated and placed at the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery with no services.
