Freddie Lee Yelton, age 85, passed away on November 6, 2012 at the Nevada State Veterans Home in Boulder City, NV. He was born in Indiana on January 19, 1927 to Fred and Hazel Overmeyer Yelton of Delong, Indiana. Freddie joined the Army and served his country as a solider and civil servant. Freddie was a member of the VFW in Stewart, FL and Boulder City, NV. He moved to the area eight years ago from Ft Meyers, FL to be closer to his daughter. Freddie had a strong faith and was a member of the United Methodist Church. Freddie enjoyed boating, gardening, and loved playing the organ.
Freddie is survived by his son James and Carol Yelton of Hollywood, FL, a daughter Jennifer and Hal Davis of Las Vegas, NV; three grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
A memorial service was held on Thursday, November 8, 2012 in Boulder City, NV. He will be laid to rest in the Florida National Cemetery with his wife Mildred Yelton. In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to the Nevada State Veterans Home or to the Alzheimer's Association.
