Geoffrey Louis Diehl age 87 of Boulder City, NV passed away on June 9, 2014 surrounded by his family. He was born on March 31, 1927 in Alameda, CA. He served his country in the United States Coast Guard. He was a proud patriot and was a member of the American Legion. He married Lillian Skow in Glendale, CA on January 15, 1960. She preceded him in death in April of 2013. Geoffrey worked for the Southern California Rapid Transit District and retired as Transportation Superintendent. After retiring and moving to Boulder City he helped at the Senior Center by driving the senior bus for 13 years.
Geoffrey was an excellent baseball player in his youth and played semi-pro baseball. He passed his love of the game on in later years as he volunteered as a coach. He was a fan of the game and loved his Angels. He also enjoyed playing softball. He had a passion for model trains.
He is survived by his five children Dianne (Gary) Eaton of Boulder City, NV, Lynn (David) Escobedo of Glendora, CA, Daniel (Lisa) Diehl of Cleveland, GA, Steve (Alison) Diehl of Laihaina Maui, HI, Kathy (Mike) Karpinnen of Forest Grove, OR; a sister Dorothy Schallert; seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 12, 2014 at Boulder City Family Mortuary from 5-7pm. Funeral service will be Friday, June 13, 2013 at 11:00 am at Bethany Baptist Church on 210 Wyoming Boulder City, NV 89005. Burial will follow the services at Boulder City Cemetery.
