George Mead

George Alfred Mead, age 78, passed away on November 15, 2016 in Henderson, NV.  He was born on August 19, 1938 in Los Angeles, CA to Robert and Josephine Mead.  George married Judith Westover on July 13, 1957.  They moved to Boulder City, NV from Palmdale, CA in 1974 to raise their family.

George was a member of the Baptist religion.  He was a member of the Exchange Club. George had a passion for cars and loved his Corvette.  He enjoyed golf and was an avid sports fan.  In his younger years, he was a wonderful catcher and was in the farm system for the St. Louis Cardinals.  After retiring as Vice President at Knudsen Dairy, he went on to open his own pizzeria called Rosia Pizzeria.  George loved to spend time playing with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife Judith Mead; three children Karen Linford, Kimmy Mead, and Kelly (Robert) McDonald; six siblings June, Bob, Bill, Ron, Raymond, Steve, and Richard; three grandchildren Christopher, Jeremy, and Lindsey; and two great grandchildren Isabelle and Max. George is preceded in death by his parents, sisters Ruby Ann and Mae; two brothers Kenny and Richard.

George was a sweet, strong, caring, loving husband, father, grandfather and a great grandfather who loved to make people smile. But his greatest love of all was his beautiful wife Judith. He will be missed immensely, but his laughter and care for his family will be in our hearts forever.

Services will be held on Monday November 21, 2016 at 11:00 am at Grace Community Church, 1150 Wyoming Street, Boulder City, NV.  Burial will follow at Boulder City Cemetery.  Family and friends can sign an online memorial guestbook at www.bouldercityfamilymortuary.com
