Gerald A Denis

On the morning of Saturday, August 19th , 2023, beloved father, husband, brother and Papa, Gerald A. Denis, age 74, of North Las Vegas, Nevada, departed this world for the next. He passed at home surrounded by his loved ones.

Gerald, fondly known as Jerry, Papa and Dad, was born to Charles and Beatrice Denis, on Saturday, April 23rd , 1949, at Westlake Hospital in Melrose Park, Illinois. Jerry attended Proviso East High School. At the young age of 18, Jerry enlisted in the US Marine Corps where he served for three years. Upon his honorable discharge from the Marines, Jerry went on to work for Commonwealth Edison in Illinois as well as start his own roofing business, “Denis Roofing.” After some time, Jerry settled down in Las Vegas, Nevada, where he grew roots and worked for the power company, NV Energy. He was a proud lineman, devoted father, husband, brother, papa, a veteran, and a loyal friend. He loved to travel and plan vacations, spoil his grandchildren, watch the Chicago Bears play, cheer for the Vegas Golden Knights, talk about Trump and fix everything. His passion was preventative maintenance and pre-planning. He always had advice and an opinion for everything, no matter the circumstance. He always made time for his family, friends, and people in need. Jerry lived a happy and fulfilling life and was beloved by all who knew him.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Rhonda Denis (66) of North Las Vegas, Nevada, his three daughters, his stepson, his seven grandchildren, and two step grandsons: Jenette Litviak (53) and husband Eugene Litviak, of Henderson, Nevada; Becke Denis-Smith (49) and husband David Smith, of North Las Vegas, Nevada; Rachel Albright (43) and husband Tim Albright, of North Las Vegas, Nevada; Joncy Oatman (48) and wife Tonya Oatman, of Fontana, California; Vincent Litviak (27) and wife Sidney Litviak; Dylan Litviak (24) and fiancé Amanda Kunz; McKenzie Smith (23); Madison Smith (22); Matthew Smith (22) and fiancé Gianna Verali; Emma Albright (16); Jacob Albright (13); Caden Oatman (19); Connor Oatman (15). He is also survived by sister, Sandra Schoenbeck (77), of Bartlett, Illinois and brother, Charles “Tom” Denis (79) and wife Barbara Eden Denis, of Somerset, Kentucky.

The funeral service and burial will be held on Wednesday, September 13th , 2023, at 1:20 p.m. at the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Boulder City, Nevada.
