CMSGT Gordon M. Gould, U.S. Air Force, Retired
Gordon M. Gould passed away on November 25, 2016, after a short illness, at the age of 93. He was born on May 28, 1923 in Farmington, Maine. Gordon was one of three children of the late Clarence and Doris Gould, sister Jeanette Cameron and brother Ronald.
He is survived by his loving wife Itoko (best known as Judy) of 56 years, and nephew Dennis Cameron.
Gordon was in college when World War II broke out and had completed two years at Northwestern University, when he decided to enlist in the U.S. Navy in March 1942 and served 8 years as an Aircraft Mechanic aboard several aircraft carriers. In 1951 Gordon returned to college, but that wasn’t his cup of tea, so in April 1952 he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force as an Aircraft Mechanic and was sent to Korea. When Vietnam broke out Gordon was sent there and served a couple tours. His final assignment took him to Peace Air Force Base, NH, where in retired on February 1976 after 32 years of service to his country.
They decided that the cold weather up in Maine was too much for them, so they moved to Henderson, Nevada in 1980, where both of them went to work at the old MGM. Gordon worked there for 10 years and decided that was enough and went into his favorite past time of watching cowboy movies. Gordon was also a Master Mason and affiliated from a lodge in Oklahoma to Mt Moriah Lodge #39 in Henderson, NV. Gordon joined the York Rite Masonic bodies, Boulder City Chapter #14, Hiram Council #5 and Melita Commmandery #9 in October 2009 in Boulder City, NV. Gordon was a good man and mason and will be missed by his fraternal brothers.
Memorial service will be at 10:40 a.m. Thursday, Dec 8 at the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Veterans Memorial Drive, Boulder City, NV.
