Grant Proctor

Louis Grant Proctor, age 81, of Boulder City, Nevada passed away on May 23, 2014. He was born on November 27, 1932 to Mr. James Virgil Proctor and Mrs. Minerva Langford Proctor. He was raised on a farm in Antimony, Utah where he spent time playing baseball, basketball, raising chickens and playing with his cousins. After high school he went to college in Cedar City. After a short time at college he served in the United States Army. He married Nyla "June" Leigh on October 16, 1952 and later sealed in the Las Vegas Temple on Nov 30, 1994. Grant worked as a cook at Sullivan's CafAC. in Cedar City where he met Nyla. After they were married, Grant moved to Boulder City and worked as a fry cook at Bobs Chicken shack, then he and Nyla became owners and operators of the Boulder City Artic Circle restraunt. Grant later worked as a real estate agent for over 30 years. Grant and Nyla enjoyed spending summers in Cedar City and Antimony Utah. During his retirement years, Grant worked on the 300 acre Proctor Antimony homestead, restoring his parents' home where he grew up, drilling irrigation wells, planting alfalfa and growing a garden.

Grant is survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his wife Nyla June Proctor that passed away in 2011. Services will be held on Wednesday, May 28, 2014 at 10:00 am at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints Buchanan Chapel, 1550 Buchanan Boulevard, Boulder City Nevada. Visitation will be prior to the service from 9:00 to 10:00 am. He will be laid to rest next to his wife on Thursday, May 29, 2014 at 1:00 pm at the Cedar City Cemetery.
