Guy Owen Rainey, 61, peacefully passed away in his life-long Boulder City home on September 13th, 2021. Guy was born on January 15th, 1960 in Upland, California to Nora and Paul Rainey Jr. Guy was preceded in death by his wife of 37 years, Patricia Rainey. Guy is survived by his two daughters, Crystal Crosson of Las Vegas, Amber Rainey of Boulder City, grandson Coleston Crosson, and sister Paula Blackstone.
As a child, Guy traveled the world with his family and experienced life overseas in areas such as Lebanon, Germany and Beirut. When his father retired from the Airforce, the family moved to Boulder City. This is where the majority of his life was lived. Upon settling in Boulder City he met his high school sweetheart, Patricia Rainey, who later became his wife. They had two daughters together.
Guy had quite the personality and was always known to make others laugh. He began his mechanical career as a diesel mechanic, owned his own auto-shop and then wrapped up his career as an aerial lift mechanic. Many in this field knew him as “Mo”. While he was no longer in the workforce, he never stopped working. He was always fixing things around the house and loved to tinker in his garage or spend time at the junkyard. He was a car enthusiast who enjoyed classic cars. Above all, nothing made him prouder than his two daughters and grandson.
There will be a joint Celebration of Life (reception style) to honor Guy and his wife, Patricia, on Sunday October 3rd, 2021. It will be held at the Multiuse Building at 1204 6th Street, Boulder City, NV from 1-3 pm. There will be no formal service, but the family requests that you stop by and share your memories while catching up with old friends.
