Helen Fahey

On Thursday, May 13, 2021, Helen Darlene (Dondi) Fahey, loving wife, mother and grandmother, passed away at the age of 74.

She was born on August 5, 1947 in Bentleyville, PA to William and Helen (Malich) Skerbetz. She was a graduate of the California University of Pennsylvania and enjoyed a successful career with the Marines, retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel. On December 2, 1992, she married Andrew P. Fahey and cherished their blended family of four sons, three daughters, twelve grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.

Dondi was a skillful cook who loved to prepare elaborate meals for family and friends.  In her earlier years, she was an expert skier and traveled with her husband and friends to the world’s best ski resorts to experience the local culture and cuisine.  In later years, she enjoyed researching and documenting her family lineage in Slovenia and Ireland.

Helen Darlene Fahey was preceded in death by her husband Andrew, her father William, and her mother Helen. She is survived by her son, Jamieson Kruger, and stepchildren Andrew P. Fahey Jr., Kathleen Simpson, Timothy Fahey, Julie Wilke, Kelly Fahey and William Fahey as well as several extended family members throughout the US.

A burial will be held on May 26 at 10:40am at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Boulder City.  Friends are invited to attend and can sign an online memorial guestbook at www.bouldercityfamilymortuary.com
