Helen Louise Smith, age 86 of Boulder City, Nevada passed away on January 8, 2014 in Boulder City, Nevada. She was born in Wichita, Kansas on January 22, 1927 to Lester and Jewell Hummel. At the age of 19, Helen was married 3 days after meeting Harold Smith in person, someone she had been pen pals with for 6 months. January 29, 2014 will mark their 68th wedding anniversary. Helen dedicated herself to her family and was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She took great pride in the Homemaker Arts, making clothes for her family as well as knitting and crocheting many beautiful items including doll dresses and pillowcases. Helen's family, who knew her as Nano, along with those closest to her will remember her lovingly for her feisty personality and her deep devotion to her husband, son, daughter, and all the other people dear to her heart.
Helen is survived by her sister Sally (Ken) Woolery; son Warren Smith, MD of Boulder City; daughter Twila Cyr-Mclean of Las Vegas; five grandchildren Christopher, Chad, Marcus, Lucas, Brittany and nine great grandchildren.
