Hollis Hackathorn
November 4, 1926 — March 17, 2016
Hollis A Hackathorn, 89, died Thursday, March 17, 2016 at his Las Vegas home. He was born in Wheeling WV on November 4, 1926, a son of Marion F and Virginia Little Hackathorn, preceded in death by siblings, Louis, David, Peggy and Nancy. Five nieces and one nephew survive.
He attended elementary school at Mozart and Wheeling High School briefly during WW II. He served in the US Army and Air Force with distinction in the Korean War (107th Truck Transportation Unit) and the Vietnam War (the Big Red One), retiring from the Army in 1972. He was a graduate of Glenville State College and the Masters program at Marshall University, Huntington.
