Howard Smith

July 3, 1934 — June 29, 2016

Howard Hamilton Smith, 81, of Henderson, NV passed away at home on June 29, 2016.  He was born July 3, 1934 in New York City, New York to Walter and Caroline Smith the 5th of 5 children.  He left high school in 1952 to join the Army and fought through the duration of the Korean War. He was always proud of the Service he gave for his country.  Howard was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and served in numerous volunteer capacities throughout his life with the Church.

Howard is survived by his wife of 38 years, Deana; daughters Lucy Tueller (Lon) of Geneva, ID, Shawna Cardoza (Ed) of Marysville, OH, Crystal Tweeten (Dennis) of Fort Morgan, CO, Selinda Nolan (Ray) of North Lewisburg, OH, Cordelia Culver (Patrick) of Grey Bull, WY, Nancy Williams (Tim) of Roswell, NM, Brenda Welch of Henderson, NV and Denise Fletcher (Wade) of Henderson, NV. He was preceded in death by his daughter Kimalee Lynn Parker and his granddaughter Samantha Kimalee Blackburn.  He is also survived by 30 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Compassion Care Hospice and the members of the Arrowhead Ward for their loving support in his last days.  Memorial services will be held at the Arrowhead LDS Chapel, 801 Arrowhead Trail, Henderson at 11:00 A.M. July 9, 2016.  Graveside serves will be at the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Boulder City on July 18th at 2:00 P.M.  In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be sent to the LDS Church Humanitarian Aid Fund.  Family and Friends can sign an online memorial guestbook at www.bouldercityfamilymortuary.com
