J V Judd, age 87, of Las Vegas, NV passed away on March 8, 2012, surrounded by family. He was born on July 20, 1924 in Cookeville, TN to Otis and Arizona Harding Judd. He married Doris Louise Bryant on April 18, 1950 in Kentucky. J V proudly served in the United States Marine Corps during World War II as a Reconnaissance Scout Sniper and in the Korean War as a Drill Sergeant.
After his military service, J V worked as manager of plant facilities at Jewish Hospital in Cincinnati, OH. Upon retirement, they moved to Panama City Beach, FL and in 1995 to Las Vegas, NV. In his younger years he enjoyed going hunting and taking trips to the ocean to spend time on the beach. He enjoyed playing bingo, visiting with family, watching football, and having a Coke and some cookies. He was a very positive person and when asked how he was doing, he would always say "I'm having more fun than a human being should be allowed to have." J V was a Kentucky Colonel, a Freemason, and a member of the Elks and Moose lodges.
J V is survived by his wife Doris of Las Vegas; two daughters Rosiland Murray of Cincinnati, OH and Zoe (Norman) Sturgill of Las Vegas, NV; three grandsons Chuck (Mandy) Murray, Chris (Tara) Murray, and Warren Sturgill; five great grandchildren Daymia, Jayden, Griffin, Grant, and Gavin. He is preceded in death by a great grandson Gibson. Also preceding J V in death were his parents Otis and Arizona Judd; three sisters Avil Sewell, Mary Helen Blevins and Pauline Kruger; and one brother Wesley Pritchard.
