Jacob Louis Williams, age 86 of Boulder City, NV, passed away on March 1, 2014. He was born on December 11, 1927 in Hurricane, UT to Leada Glen Williams and Ora Workman Williams. After he graduated from high school, he served in the United States Army. He served during World War II in Okinawa as Private First Class Military Police. Jacob married Barbara Corry on February 8, 1948, and they were later sealed in the St. George Temple on December 29, 1959. After Jacob's military service, they moved to Provo, where Jacob attended Central Utah Vocational School. After school and a short time in Cedar City, Jacob and Barbara moved to Boulder City, where they have lived for 61 years. Jacob worked at Community Chevrolet. A few years later, they bought an old church house in Boulder City, and Jacob turned it into B & J Auto Body with the famous sign "We Occupy This Entire Building". B&J Auto Body is now a third-generation business.
Jacob was an active member in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in many callings, including Bishop for eight years, Elders Quorum President, and Stake High Councilman. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, dutch oven cooking, and reading Louis L'Amour books. He loved to spend time with his family and go to the cabin. He was a life member of the American Legion and was proud of his service to our country.
Jacob is survived by his wife of 66 years, Barbara Williams; four children, Lynda Leavitt and her husband, Dave, Charles Williams and his wife, Debi, Roger Williams and his wife, Lori, and Rebecca Steffen and her husband, Brian; daughter-in-law Rana Williams; three sisters, Lona, Bonnie, and Yvonne; twelve grandchildren; and thirteen great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by a son, Glen Williams; a brother, Raymond; and two sisters, Claree and GlennaRae.
Funeral service will be held at the LDS 5th Street Chapel on Saturday, March 8, 2014 at 10:00 am . Visitation will be the night before from 6:00 to 8:00 pm and again an hour prior to the start of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Church Temple Fund, Mission Fund, or the Perpetual Education Fund in Jacob's name.
