Captain James Francis (Jim) Kaufman, 68, a resident of Sun City Anthem in Henderson, passed away April 27, 2014. He was born Sept.11, 1945 in Yonkers, NY to Benjamin Bernard and Louise Marie Kaufman. He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Kathleen Joan Kaufman; his four children: Christine (David) Keene of Coral Springs, FL.; Susan Milano of Phoenix, AZ; Elizabeth (Daniel) Rivenburgh of Waukee, Iowa; Peter (Jeena) Kaufman of Wellington, FL.; 3 stepchildren: David (Jennifer) Phillips of Merrick, NY, Autumn (Brian) Donohue of Lynbrook, NY, and Zachary Phillips of Las Vegas, NV; 12 grandchildren: MaryAshley Keene, David Keene, Kayleigh Milano, Ryan Milano, Abby Rivenburgh, William Rivenburgh, Brandon Kaufman, Shane Kaufman, Henry Phillips, Audrey Phillips, Claire Phillips, and Andrew Donohue Capt. Kaufman was a 1963 graduate of West Islip High School in West Islip, New York and earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration in 1967 from the University of Miami. He later served his country in the United States Army in Vietnam.Most recently, Capt. Kaufman was a marketing executive with Benchmark Publishing Company working with Military Newcomers and their base transition.Graveside services will be held at 10:20 a.m. at the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Veterans Memorial Drive, Boulder City NV 89005.
