James Richard Markley, age 82, a resident of Boulder City, NV since 1978, passed away on January 20, 2017. He was born on May 2, 1934, in Kansas City, Kansas.
Jim had a strong passion for life. He was an avid sports fan, especially rooting for his Kansas City Chiefs and Kansas City Royals. He also loved playing poker, fishing, boating, reading, and cooking. He was a general contractor and owned Boulder City Building and Roofing before his retirement.
Jim is survived by his wife of 25 years, Janet Markley; five children Vicki (David) Parsons, Linda (Tom) Doleshal, Kay (Marty) Johnson, Suellen Moore (Mike Morton), Michele (Arthur) Wilke; three brothers Timothy Jones, Mike Jones, Jerry Jones; ten grandchildren Matthew, Nicole, Brian, Jeff, Jordan, Nicolas, Jessica, Bailey, Danni, Keaton; four great grandchildren Lyla, Alex, Ensley, and Angelina. He is preceded in death by his son James "Jim" Richard Markley Jr.; five siblings Jack, Joe, Pat, Jean, and Dennis.
Graveside services will be held on Thursday, January 26, 2017, at 2:00 pm at the Boulder City Cemetery, 501 Adams Blvd., Boulder City, NV.
