Chief Master Sergeant Retired James Anderson Welsh age 84, of Boulder City, NV passed away on April 17, 2015. He was born in Neptune, NJ on October 23, 1930 to Robert and Julia Welsh. He was raised in South Africa and Scotland. He married Lynn Jackson who precedes him in death. James served his country in the United States Air Force. After a career of 26 years in the Air Force he retired as a Chief Master Sergeant in 1976 from K I Sawyer Air Force Base in Michigan. He relocated to Boulder City and took a job at the Hoover Dam. He worked there for 16 years retiring as the Supervisor of Visitor Services. In 1983 he married Gloria Cross. He had been living at the Nevada State Veterans Home the past 5 A½ years where they had taken extremely great care of him.
In his youth, James was an extremely good marathon runner and an excellent soccer player. He was invited to play with a professional soccer team in California. He was always very athletic and enjoyed playing golf also. He was a life-long member of the Elks Lodge.
James is survived by his wife Gloria Welsh of Boulder City, NV; two daughters Barbara DeRosa and Beverly Delaney; two stepsons James Cross and Daniel Cross; seven grandchildren Rachel DeRosa, Nichole Dee, Heather Beck, Cameron DeLaney, Katy Reestman, Daniel Cross and Amanda Cross; four great grandchildren.
