Janice Carol Turner, 59, of Las Vegas, Nevada, passed away peacefully on June 1, 2024 at Henderson Hospital in Henderson, NV, surrounded by her loving family. Born on August 26, 1964 in Charlotte, North Carolina, to Carol Sue Turner (Parker), Janice brought light and love into the world from the very beginning.

After graduating from Webster County High School in 1982, Janice proudly served her country by joining the United States Air Force, where she worked as a Medical Technician and EMT. Her dedication to helping others continued as she earned an Associate’s degree in Applied Science in Nursing from the College of Southern Nevada in 1996. Over her 17-year career as a registered nurse, Janice touched countless lives, working at various esteemed institutions, including Cheyenne Residential & Nursing Center in Las Vegas, USAF Government Hospitals in Yokota AFB, Japan, and Cannon AFB, Clovis, NM, Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, TX, and Lackland AFB in San Antonio, TX.

Raised in Webster Springs, WV, Janice’s adventurous spirit led her to travel the world with her family. She lived in diverse places such as Rapid City, SD, Austin, TX, Las Vegas, NV, Charleston, WV, Tokyo, Japan, Clovis, NM, and San Antonio, TX. Despite these many moves she always made each place feel like home, creating a loving environment filled with warmth and joy.

Janice’s life was a beautiful tapestry woven with love, compassion, and selflessness. She found joy in simple pleasures like going to the movies, dining out, and shopping, but her greatest love was in supporting and caring for others. Janice’s sweet and gentle soul left a lasting impression on everyone she met. Her legacy of kindness and generosity will live on in the hearts of those who knew her.

She is survived by her beloved children: Brittany Aikens (Kamoni), Austin Aikens (Nancy), and Erickson Aikens; and her cherished grandchild, Aura Aikens. Janice is also survived by her devoted sister, Dawn Fields; her brothers, Thomas Turner and fraternal twin, Joseph Turner. She leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, many dear family members, friends, and her best friend, Brenda, who will forever miss her.

Janice’s love, warmth, and unwavering support for others created a legacy that will continue to inspire and uplift all who were fortunate to know her. She will be deeply missed but forever remembered with love and admiration.
