Joan Phelps

Joan Phelps 91 years old, passed away July 29th, 2023 at Serenity Home in Las Vegas, Nevada. She was born July 14th, 1932 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa to Alex Haddy and Hazel Ruffin. 

She was raised in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, attended and graduated from McKinley High School, owned the Green Diamond III Bar on 2nd Ave in Cedar Rapids, Iowa then she went to work with her brother George Haddy at the Sip & Stir Lounge in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, moved to Las Vegas, Nevada in 1992 and worked for Danny's Slot Country, joined the Las Vegas Bridge Club, she loved to dance to Frank Sinatra, play cards with her sisters and gamble at Sam's Town with them on the weekends.

She is survived by her sister, Phyllis Santas in Las Vegas, NV, her 2 sons Brian Wilson, Stuart Matthew Wilson, daugher-in-law Tina Cimmino who reside in Las Vegas, NV and many nieces, nephews and cousins who all loved her dearly. Preceded in death by her parents, Alex Haddy and Hazel Ruffin, her 3 sisters, Mary Meyers, Helen Azar, Geraldine Hanna, her brother George Haddy, her nephew Chris Stevens and Greg Goodale.

Funeral services will be Thursday, August 3rd, 2023 at 10 am at the Boulder City Municipal Cemetery located at 501 Adams Blvd Boulder City, Nevada 89005. Family and friends can sign an online memorial guestbook at www.starmortuary.com
